Compare · ATS reporting
Dashly or the reports in your ATS or scheduling system?
Your ATS shows what happens inside it; Dashly puts your systems side by side and shows what recruitment and scheduling deliver.
Short answer
The difference in short.
Your ATS or scheduling reports are fine for the work in that system; key metrics need data from several systems.
The strengths of ATS reporting
- An ATS knows a lot about vacancies, applications and candidates.
- A scheduling system knows a lot about requests, shifts and hours.
- Fine for the funnel, the workload and what is still open.
What Dashly adds
- Connects ATS, scheduling, payroll, accounting and CRM.
- Margin per placement and cost per hire, with fixed formulas.
- The steering model shows where the cause is, whichever system it sits in.
The alternative: ATS reporting
An ATS (applicant tracking system) is software for the recruitment process: vacancies, applications and candidates. A scheduling system handles requests, rosters and hours. Most of these systems have built-in reports, such as applications per source, lead times or open and filled shifts. They calculate with the data and definitions of that one system.
About Dashly
Dashly is the Workforce Intelligence Layer for staffing, secondment and recruitment organisations, recruitment departments and recruitment marketing agencies. It connects ATS, scheduling, payroll, accounting and CRM, and runs everything through the Workforce Intelligence Model: fixed formulas, with source. You use it in Dashly Dashboard or in your own AI.
Use both?
Yes, and that is how it usually works. Your ATS and scheduling system remain where you work, and their reports stay useful for daily work. Dashly sits underneath and calculates across the systems. Agree that key metrics that span several systems, such as margin per placement, come from Dashly.
Differences
ATS reporting and Dashly side by side.
What you see
- ATS reporting
- What happens in that system: vacancies, applications and candidates, or requests, shifts and hours.
- Dashly
- Your whole organisation: from campaign and request to worked hour, invoice and margin.
Sources
- ATS reporting
- One system. What sits outside it, such as payroll, accounting or advertising costs, is not included unless you add it yourself.
- Dashly
- ATS, scheduling, payroll, accounting, CRM and advertising channels, connected.
Key metrics across systems
- ATS reporting
- Margin per placement, cost per hire or return on recruitment spend you build with exports and manual work.
- Dashly
- Standard in the model, with formula and source.
Definitions
- ATS reporting
- The way that system counts. 'Placed' in your ATS can mean something different from your scheduling system.
- Dashly
- One definition per metric, recorded with you, the same for everyone.
Finding the cause
- ATS reporting
- You see a number falling. The cause is often in another system or another department.
- Dashly
- The steering model follows a number from cause to effect, across the layers.
Your own AI
- ATS reporting
- Depends on what your vendor offers, on the data of that system.
- Dashly
- Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or your own agents through MCP, on all your systems together.
Setup
- ATS reporting
- Built into the system. You make changes yourself or through the vendor.
- Dashly
- Dashly connects, models and validates against your own records. You sign off each step, then we keep it right.
Pricing model
- ATS reporting
- However your vendor arranges it.
- Dashly
- Per connection, not per user. See the pricing page.
Choosing
What fits you?
Choose ATS reporting if
- You mainly steer on the work in that one system: the funnel, the workload, what is still open.
- You do recruitment, scheduling and payroll in one package, and your questions stay within it.
- Your team needs a worklist today, not a key metric.
Choose Dashly if
- You want to know which recruitment delivers placements, worked hours and margin, not just applications.
- You work with several systems and each system counts differently.
- You want to get from a signal to the cause, even if it sits in another department.
- You want the same numbers for the board, recruitment, scheduling and finance.
Questions
Questions about ATS reporting and Dashly.
Is your question not here? In a demo we show how Dashly works with your systems.
01What is the difference with the reports in my ATS?
Each of them looks from its own angle. Dashly puts ATS, scheduling, payroll, CRM and accounting side by side in one model, with fixed definitions and a steering model that shows where you need to step in. Your tools can stay.
02Why does my ATS count different placements than my scheduling or payroll?
Because each system counts its own moment and definition, for example hired in the ATS and first shift or first payslip in scheduling and payroll. None of the three is wrong. Dashly records with you per metric what counts, and links the records so that every placement exists once.
03Do I need to switch ATS to use Dashly?
No. Your systems stay as they are; Dashly sits underneath. Dashly connects with Carerix, Mysolution, OTYS, Easyflex, XPS, AFAS, HubSpot and Exact Online, among others. The full list is on the Connections page.
04Can I see which recruitment channel delivers people who stay?
Not with your ATS alone: for that you link the source of the application to placement, worked hours and leaving. In Dashly these are fixed metrics, such as retention per channel and cost per worked hour. The precondition is that the source of every application is known. Dashly Collect measures that itself, with consent, from your recruitment campaigns.
