Compare · Claude and ChatGPT

Dashly or Claude and ChatGPT directly on your systems?

Claude or ChatGPT answers within a minute; with Dashly underneath you get the same answer every day, with formula and source.

Short answer

The difference in short.

Claude and ChatGPT are strong at language; with Dashly underneath, your own AI calculates with connected data and fixed formulas.

The strengths of Claude and ChatGPT

  • Answering a question in plain words.
  • Summarising and explaining.
  • An answer within a minute, even on an export.

What Dashly adds

  • Your own AI calculates through MCP with connected data.
  • The fixed formulas of the Workforce Intelligence Model.
  • Only the data you are allowed to see.

The alternative: Claude and ChatGPT

Claude (by Anthropic) and ChatGPT (by OpenAI) are AI assistants that answer questions in plain language. You can add files, and through connectors and the open protocol MCP they can also reach other systems. Through their API, limits apply to the number of requests and the amount of text per minute. Both makers warn that answers can be wrong, even when they sound certain.

About Dashly

Dashly is the Workforce Intelligence Layer for staffing, secondment and recruitment organisations, recruitment departments and recruitment marketing agencies. It connects ATS, scheduling, payroll, accounting and CRM, and runs everything through the Workforce Intelligence Model: fixed formulas, with source. You use it in Dashly Dashboard or in your own AI.

Use both?

Yes, that is exactly the idea. You keep using Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot. Through Dashly Access, over MCP, your AI then calculates with Dashly's data and formulas instead of a loose export. Use the chat for the question and the explanation, and Dashly for the number.

Differences

Claude and ChatGPT and Dashly side by side.

  • What they are good at

    Claude and ChatGPT
Language: questions in plain words, summarising, explaining, writing text.
    Dashly
Numbers: every key metric with a fixed formula, calculated across all your systems together.
  • Data

    Claude and ChatGPT
An export, or a direct connection that reads whatever the system returns at that moment.
    Dashly
All your systems retrieved on a schedule, with history and monitoring.
  • What belongs together

    Claude and ChatGPT
The AI guesses which records belong together. Bakker Logistiek may appear three times.
    Dashly
Every client, candidate and employee exists once, permanently linked across your systems.
  • Definitions

    Claude and ChatGPT
Worked out again for every question. 'Placed' or 'margin' can mean something different in each chat.
    Dashly
Recorded in the model, with formula and owner. The same in your dashboard and in your AI.
  • Large questions

    Claude and ChatGPT
A direct connection runs into limits on the number of requests and the amount of data.
    Dashly
Retrieved on a schedule and calculated in advance. Your AI requests the calculated number.
  • Personal data

    Claude and ChatGPT
What you put in a chat can end up with the provider. The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority) warns that this can lead to data breaches.
    Dashly
Permissions per role down to the row, also for your AI. Logging and a data processing agreement (DPA) as standard.
  • The answer

    Claude and ChatGPT
Fast and convincing, without formula or source. You cannot tell from it when it is wrong.
    Dashly
With the formula and the source, traceable down to the record.
  • Setup and maintenance

    Claude and ChatGPT
No setup needed. But you export, check and maintain it yourself every time.
    Dashly
Dashly connects, models and validates against your own records. You sign off each step, then we keep it right.
  • Pricing model

    Claude and ChatGPT
Subscription per user, or pay per use through the API.
    Dashly
Per connection, not per user. See the pricing page.

Choosing

What fits you?

Choose Claude and ChatGPT if

  • You want to write a text, summarise something or explore a question, and no decision depends on the number.
  • You work with public or anonymised data from one system.
  • You are looking something up once and check the result yourself.

Choose Dashly if

  • You make decisions on the answer: about rates, recruitment or which client needs attention.
  • Your question spans more than one system, such as margin per client or what recruitment costs per placement.
  • You want your AI to see only what the person asking may see, and every question to be logged.
  • You want the same answer in your dashboard and in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot.

Questions

Questions about Claude and ChatGPT and Dashly.

Is your question not here? In a demo we show how Dashly works with your systems.

Why not just use Claude or ChatGPT on an export?

Because your AI then does not know which client is the same one, which definition you use or whether last week's export is still right. The answer always looks good, but it is different every time. With Dashly underneath, your own AI calculates through Dashly Access with today's data and the same formulas as your dashboards.

Can I put candidate and employee data into ChatGPT or Claude?

Be careful with that. The Dutch Data Protection Authority received several reports of data breaches caused by employees putting personal data into an AI chatbot. With Dashly there is no need: through permissions per role, your AI only gets the data it needs, and every question is logged.

Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Dashly?

Yes. Dashly Access is available: you connect Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or your own agents through MCP, an open standard for connecting AI to other systems. Your AI then works on the model with fixed formulas, with permissions per user and per agent.

Why does my AI give a different answer to the same question every time?

Because it works out the calculation again for every question: which rows belong together, what counts as a placement, which period. A language model also does not always give the same answer to the same question. So record the definitions outside the chat, in a model with fixed formulas, and let your AI fetch the number from there.
