FormulaAbsenteeism = absence hours ÷ scheduled hours

Besides the percentage, the model looks at absence frequency, absence reports per employee per year, and absence duration, average days per report.

Why it matters

Absenteeism costs you twice: you keep paying wages and you have to fill the hours again. Frequent short absences are an earlier signal than long-term absence.

Where it goes wrong

With changing rosters and flexible contracts, it is not always clear which hours someone should have worked. Record which hours you calculate against.

How Dashly calculates it

Dashly calculates absenteeism per month from the back office, with absence costs from payroll next to it.
