FormulaFill rate = filled shifts ÷ requested shifts

The model also calculates fill rate in hours: filled hours ÷ requested hours. That gives long shifts more weight than short ones. For vacancies, the comparable metric is called vacancy fill rate.

It is the measure of delivery reliability in flex work: at 90%, one in ten shifts stayed open.

Why it matters

An open shift is missed revenue and a client who notices. Fill rate shows per client, role and region where you are not delivering, before the complaint arrives.

Where it goes wrong

A shift filled at the last minute counts the same as one filled well in advance. And shifts that had to be refilled after a cancellation disappear from view. So also look at 'filled on time' and at replacements.

How Dashly calculates it

Dashly calculates fill rate per day and week from your scheduling system, per client, role and region. If it drops below your standard just before the shift, you see which open shifts you can still offer to employees with hours to spare.
