FormulaMargin per client = fee + media margin − hours × cost price, per client

Media margin is already net here: what you charge the client for media minus the media spend. So do not deduct the media spend a second time. Worked example: say € 4,000 fee, € 1,000 media margin and 40 hours at a € 60 cost price. Then the margin is € 2,600.

Why it matters

A client with a large media budget looks big, but the work is in the hours. Margin per client shows which clients really pay off after media and hours.

Where it goes wrong

Hours are not logged or not linked to a client. And media margin and media spend get mixed up, so the media spend is deducted twice.

How Dashly calculates it

Dashly calculates it per month from accounting, ad platforms and time registration. Hours per campaign and media spend under management sit next to it.
