FormulaTime to fill = placement date − vacancy open date

Several variants are in use: up to the placement, or up to the start of the placement. Choose one and record it. Time to hire measures something else: from application to hired.

It shows how quickly you fill the demand of a client or department.

Why it matters

The longer a vacancy stays open, the bigger the chance that the client fills it elsewhere or that the candidate drops out. In a corporate organisation, every open day costs productivity.

Where it goes wrong

Teams calculate with different start and end points, or vacancies that are long out of date stay open and push the average up. So also look at vacancy age: how long have the vacancies that are still open been open?

How Dashly calculates it

Dashly calculates time to fill per week from the ATS, per client, role and recruiter, on one recorded definition.
